진정한 영적 생활

[본문] 마22:34-40
34¶ 그러나 그분께서 사두개인들을 잠잠하게 하셨다는 것을 바리새인들이 듣고 함께 모였는데
34But when the Pharisees had heard that he had put the Sadducees to silence, they were gathered together.
35그때에 그들 중의 한 율법사가 그분을 시험하려고 그분께 질문하여 이르되,
35Then one of them, [which was] a lawyer, asked [him a question], tempting him, and saying,
36선생님이여, 율법에서 큰 명령은 무엇이니이까? 하매
36Master, which [is] the great commandment in the law?
37예수님께서 그에게 이르시되, 너는 네 마음을 다하고 혼을 다하고 생각을 다하여 [주] 네 [하나님]을 사랑하라.
37Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
38이것이 첫째가는 큰 명령이요,
38This is the first and great commandment.
39둘째 명령은 그것과 같은 것으로서, 너는 네 이웃을 네 자신과 같이 사랑하라, 이니라.
39And the second [is] like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
40모든 율법과 대언자들의 글이 이 두 명령에 매달려 있느니라, 하시니라.
40On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.
예수 그리스도를 믿어 성령을 받아(갈 3:2) 영이 성령에게서 다시 태어난(요 3:6) 하나님의 자녀는 영적 생활을 시작하게 됩니다. 문제는 갓 태어난 어린 아이이기에 서투른 영적 생활을 하게 됨에 따라 많은 시행착오를 겪게 된다는 것입니다.
갈3:2
2내가 너희에게서 다만 이것을 알고자 하노라. 너희가 율법의 행위로 성령을 받았느냐, 믿음에 관하여 들음으로 받았느냐?
2This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?
요3:6
6육에서 난 것은 육이요 성령에게서 난 것은 영이니
6That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
“너희가 그렇게 어리석으냐? 너희가 성령으로 시작하였다가 이제는 육체로 완전해지고자 하느냐?”라는 질책은 율법을 지키는 것을 영적 생활로 착각하고 있는 사람들에게 하나님께서 책망하는 말씀입니다.
반면에 안일하거나 방종하는 율법 무용론은 또 다른 극단입니다. 성경이 말씀하시는 올바른 영적 생활은 과연 무엇일까요?
1. 그리스도인의 생활, 곧 진정한 영적 생활이란 단지 기계적인 방법으로 일정한 금지항목을 만들어 놓고 지키는 것 이상을 말합니다
① 딛 3:3
3우리도 한때는 어리석고 불순종하며 속임을 당하고 여러 가지 정욕과 쾌락을 섬기며 악의와 시기 가운데 살고 증오하며 서로 미워하였으나
3For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, [and] hating one another.
② 엡 2:1-3
1또 그분께서 범법과 죄들 가운데서 죽었던 너희를 살리셨도다.
1And you [hath he quickened], who were dead in trespasses and sins;
2지나간 때에는 너희가 그것들 가운데서 이 세상의 행로를 따라 걸으며 공중의 권세 잡은 통치자 곧 지금 불순종의 자녀들 가운데서 활동하는 영을 따라 걸었느니라.
2Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:
3지나간 때에는 우리도 다 그들 가운데서 우리 육신의 욕심 안에서 생활하며 육신과 생각의 욕망을 이루어 다른 사람들과 같이 본래 진노의 자녀들이었으나
3Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.
③ 딛 2:12
12우리를 가르치시되 경건치 아니한 것과 세상에 속한 정욕들을 우리가 거부하고 이 현 세상에서 맑은 정신을 가지고 의롭게 하나님의 뜻대로 살며
12Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;
2. 진정한 영적 생활은 율법무용론을 내세워 느슨하고 안일한 방종의 삶을 의미하는 것도 아닙니다
① 롬 6:14
14너희가 율법 아래 있지 아니하고 은혜 아래 있으므로 죄가 너희를 지배하지 못하리라.
14For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.
② 갈 5:1
1그리스도께서 자유로 우리를 자유롭게 하셨으니 그러므로 그 자유 안에 굳게 서고 다시 속박의 멍에를 메지 말라.
1Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.
③ 고전 6:12
12모든 것이 내게 적법하나 모든 것이 적절하지는 아니하며 모든 것이 나를 위해 적법하나 내가 어떤 것의 권능 아래에도 놓이지 아니하리라.
12All things are lawful unto me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any.
④ 고전 10:23,24
23모든 것이 나를 위해 적법하나 모든 것이 적절하지는 아니하며 모든 것이 나를 위해 적법하나 모든 것이 세워 주지는 아니하나니
23All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but all things edify not.
24아무도 자기 것을 구하지 말고 각각 다른 사람이 잘되기를 구하라.
24Let no man seek his own, but every man another's [wealth].
3. 진정한 영적 생활은 외적인 것이 아니라 내적인 것입니다. 즉 하나님과 사람을 거스르는 탐심을 갖지 않는 것입니다 (출 20:17, 롬 7:7-9, 마 5:28, 요일 3:15)
① 우리는 만족할 만큼 하나님을 사랑해야 합니다
마22:37
37예수님께서 그에게 이르시되, 너는 네 마음을 다하고 혼을 다하고 생각을 다하여 [주] 네 [하나님]을 사랑하라.
37Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
② 어느 순간 잠잠히 하나님께 감사 드린다는 것은 적어도 그 순간에 참으로 우리가 하나님을 사랑하고 있다는 증거입니다
엡 5:20
20모든 일로 인해 우리 [주] 예수 그리스도의 이름으로 항상 [하나님] 곧 [아버지]께 감사하고
20Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;
골 3:15
15[하나님]의 화평이 너희 마음속에서 다스리게 하라. 너희도 그 화평에 이르도록 한 몸 안에서 부르심을 받았으니 감사하는 자가 되라.
15And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.
살전 5:18
18모든 일에서 감사하라. 이것이 그리스도 예수님 안에서 너희에 대한 [하나님]의 뜻이니라.
18In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
롬 1:21
21그들이 [하나님]을 알되 그분을 [하나님]으로 영화롭게 하지도 아니하고 감사하지도 아니하며 오히려 자기들의 상상 속에서 허망해지고 또 그들의 어리석은 마음이 어두워졌나니
21Because that, when they knew God, they glorified [him] not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.
③ 우리는 조금도 질투를 내지 않을 만큼 사람을 사랑해야 합니다
마 22:39
39둘째 명령은 그것과 같은 것으로서, 너는 네 이웃을 네 자신과 같이 사랑하라, 이니라.
39And the second [is] like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
④ 우는 자와 함께 울고 기뻐하는 자들과 함께 기뻐해야 합니다.
롬 12:15
15기뻐하는 자들과 함께 기뻐하고 슬피 우는 자들과 함께 슬피 울라.
15Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep.
4. 탐심을 갖지 않는 소극적 자세에서 적극적 자세로 사랑을 실천해야 합니다
① 요일 5:1-3
1누구든지 예수님께서 그리스도이심을 믿는 자는 [하나님]에게서 태어났으며 낳으신 그분을 사랑하는 자마다 그분에게서 난 자도 사랑하느니라.
1Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and every one that loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him.
2우리가 [하나님]을 사랑하고 그분의 명령들을 지킬 때에 이로써 우리가 [하나님]의 자녀들을 사랑하는 줄 아나니
2By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments.
3우리가 그분의 명령들을 지키는 것, 이것이 곧 [하나님]을 사랑하는 것이니라. 그분의 명령들은 무겁지 아니하니라.
3For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.
② 요일 3:16-18
16[하나님]께서 우리를 위해 자신의 생명을 내놓으셨으므로 이로써 우리가 그분의 사랑을 깨닫나니 우리가 형제들을 위해 우리의 생명을 내놓는 것이 마땅하니라.
16Hereby perceive we the love [of God], because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down [our] lives for the brethren.
17그러나 누가 이 세상의 좋은 것을 가지고 있으면서 자기 형제가 궁핍한 것을 보고도 동정하는 마음을 닫아 그를 피하면 어찌 [하나님]의 사랑이 그 속에 거하겠느냐?
17But whoso hath this world's good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels [of compassion] from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him?
18나의 어린 자녀들아, 우리가 말과 혀로만 사랑하지 말고 오직 행함과 진실함으로 하자.
18My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.
