교회들을 향한 주님의 계시

[본문] 계1:8-13
8나는 [알파]와 [오메가]요 시작과 끝마침이라. 지금도 있고 전에도 있었고 앞으로 올 [주] 곧 [전능자]가 말하노라.
8I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.
9나 요한은 또한 너희 형제요 환난과 예수 그리스도의 왕국과 인내에 동참하는 자라. 내가 [하나님]의 말씀과 예수 그리스도의 증언으로 인해 밧모라 하는 섬에 있었노라.
9I John, who also am your brother, and companion in tribulation, and in the kingdom and patience of Jesus Christ, was in the isle that is called Patmos, for the word of God, and for the testimony of Jesus Christ.
10내가 [주]의 날에 성령 안에 있을 때에 내 뒤에서 나팔 소리 같은 큰 음성을 들었는데
10I was in the Spirit on the Lord's day, and heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet,
11이르시기를, 나는 [알파]와 [오메가]요 처음과 마지막이라. 네가 보는 것을 책에 기록하여 아시아에 있는 일곱 교회 곧 에베소, 서머나, 버가모, 두아디라, 사데, 필라델피아, 라오디게아 교회에 보내라, 하시더라.
11Saying, I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last: and, What thou seest, write in a book, and send [it] unto the seven churches which are in Asia; unto Ephesus, and unto Smyrna, and unto Pergamos, and unto Thyatira, and unto Sardis, and unto Philadelphia, and unto Laodicea.
12내가 돌아서서 나와 말씀하신 그 음성을 알아보려 하니라. 돌아설 때에 내가 일곱 금 등잔대를 보았는데
12And I turned to see the voice that spake with me. And being turned, I saw seven golden candlesticks;
13그 일곱 등잔대의 한가운데에 사람의 [아들] 같으신 분께서 발까지 내려온 옷을 입고 가슴에 금띠를 두르고 계시더라.
13And in the midst of the seven candlesticks [one] like unto the Son of man, clothed with a garment down to the foot, and girt about the paps with a golden girdle.
성경의 마지막 책 계시록에서 사도 요한은 부활하신 예수 그리스도께서 일곱 등잔대(일곱 교회) 한가운데서 대제사장으로 계신 것을 보고 이를 기록하도록 명 받았습니다. 우리의 대제사장께서는 각각의 교회의 상황에 맞게 자신을 계시하고 계십니다.
1. 에베소 교회
크고 강력한 교회이지만 첫사랑을 잃어버린 교회에게 주님은 자신을 그 교회를 통제하고 계신 분으로 계시하고 계십니다.
계2:1
1에베소 교회의 천사에게 쓰라. 오른손에 일곱 별을 붙잡고 있는 이 곧 일곱 금 등잔대의 한가운데를 거니는 이가 이것들을 말하노라.
1Unto the angel of the church of Ephesus write; These things saith he that holdeth the seven stars in his right hand, who walketh in the midst of the seven golden candlesticks;
2. 서머나
가난하고 고난을 받으며 순교에 직면해 있던 교회에게 주님은 자신을 영원에서 더 나은 인생을 보장하는 소망으로 계시하고 계십니다.
계2:8
8서머나에 있는 교회의 천사에게 쓰라. 처음이요 마지막인 이 곧 전에 죽었다가 지금 살아 있는 이가 이것들을 말하노라.
8And unto the angel of the church in Smyrna write; These things saith the first and the last, which was dead, and is alive;
히12:5, 6
5또한 자식들에게 하듯 너희에게 말씀하시는 권면을 너희가 잊었도다. 이르시되, 내 아들아, 너는 [주]의 징계를 멸시하지 말며 그분께 책망 받을 때에 낙심하지 말라.
5And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children, My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him:
6[주]께서 사랑하는 자를 친히 징계하시고 자신이 받아들이는 아들마다 채찍질하시느니라, 하셨느니라.
6For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.
- 주님께서는 서머나의 상태를 정확히 아셨습니다
계2:9
9내가 네 행위와 환난과 궁핍을 알며 (그러나 네가 부유하도다) 또 스스로 유대인이라 하나 유대인이 아니요 사탄의 회당인 자들의 신성모독을 아노라.
9I know thy works, and tribulation, and poverty, (but thou art rich) and [I know] the blasphemy of them which say they are Jews, and are not, but [are] the synagogue of Satan.
약2:5
5내 사랑하는 형제들아, 귀를 기울이라. [하나님]께서 이 세상의 가난한 자들을 택하사 믿음에 부요하게 하시고 또 자신을 사랑하는 자들에게 약속하신 왕국의 상속자들로 삼지 아니하셨느냐?
5Hearken, my beloved brethren, Hath not God chosen the poor of this world rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he hath promised to them that love him?
약1:12
시험을 견디는 자는 복이 있나니 그가 단련을 받은 뒤에 [주]께서 자신을 사랑하는 자들에게 약속하신 생명의 관(冠)을 받으리라.
12Blessed [is] the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.
3. 버가모
부도덕한 지도자들을 용납하고 있던 교회에게 주님은 자신을 분리를 요구하시는 분으로 계시하고 계십니다.
계2:12
12버가모에 있는 교회의 천사에게 쓰라. 양날 달린 날카로운 검을 가진 이가 이것들을 말하노라.
12And to the angel of the church in Pergamos write; These things saith he which hath the sharp sword with two edges;
딤후4:10
10데마는 현재의 이 세상을 사랑하여 나를 버리고 데살로니가로 떠났고 그레스겐은 갈라디아로, 디도는 달마디아로 갔으며
10For Demas hath forsaken me, having loved this present world, and is departed unto Thessalonica; Crescens to Galatia, Titus unto Dalmatia.
눅16:15
15그분께서 그들에게 이르시되, 너희는 사람들 앞에서 너희 자신을 의롭게 만드는 자들이나 너희 마음을 [하나님]께서 아시나니 사람들 가운데서 높이 평가받는 것은 [하나님] 보시기에 가증한 것이니라.
15And he said unto them, Ye are they which justify yourselves before men; but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God.
엡2:11
11또한 그분 안에서 그리스도의 할례로 말미암아 육신의 죄들에 속한 몸을 벗어 버림으로 손으로 하지 않은 할례로 할례를 받았느니라.
11In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ:
4. 두아디라
열심은 있으나 음녀 이세벨을 용납하고 있던 교회에게 주님은 자신을 심판자의 모습으로 계시하고 계십니다.
계2:18
18두아디라에 있는 교회의 천사에게 쓰라. 불꽃 같은 눈과 정제된 놋 같은 발을 가진 [하나님]의 [아들]이 이것들을 말하노라.
18And unto the angel of the church in Thyatira write; These things saith the Son of God, who hath his eyes like unto a flame of fire, and his feet [are] like fine brass;
5. 사데
살아있다는 이름만 있고 실상은 죽어있던 교회에게 주님은 자신을 성령안에서 생명을 주시는 분으로 계시하고 계십니다.
계3:1
1사데에 있는 교회의 천사에게 쓰라. [하나님]의 일곱 [영]과 일곱 별을 가진 이가 이것들을 말하노라. 내가 네 행위를 아노니 네가 살아 있다는 이름은 가지고 있으나 죽었도다.
1And unto the angel of the church in Sardis write; These things saith he that hath the seven Spirits of God, and the seven stars; I know thy works, that thou hast a name that thou livest, and art dead.
6. 필라델피아
형제 사랑을 실천하는 신실한 교회에게 주님은 자신을 그 누구도 닫지 못한 문을 열어주시는 분으로 계시하고 계십니다.
계3:7
필라델피아에 있는 교회의 천사에게 쓰라. 거룩한 이, 진실한 이, 다윗의 열쇠를 가진 이가 이것들을 말하노니 그가 열면 아무도 닫지 못하고 그가 닫으면 아무도 열지 못하느니라.
7And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write; These things saith he that is holy, he that is true, he that hath the key of David, he that openeth, and no man shutteth; and shutteth, and no man openeth;
계3:8
8내가 네 행위를 아노라. 보라, 내가 네 앞에 열린 문을 두었으니 아무도 그것을 닫지 못하리라. 네가 적은 힘을 가지고도 내 말을 지키며 내 이름을 부인하지 아니하였도다.
8I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name.
계3:10
10네가 나의 인내의 말을 지켰은즉 나도 너를 지켜 시험의 시간을 면하게 하리니 그것은 곧 앞으로 온 세상에 임하여 땅에 거하는 자들을 시험하는 시간이라.
10Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.
7. 라오디게아(3:14)
미지근한 교회에게는 주님은 자신을 신실하고 진실한 증인으로 계시하고 계십니다.
계3:14
7필라델피아에 있는 교회의 천사에게 쓰라. 거룩한 이, 진실한 이, 다윗의 열쇠를 가진 이가 이것들을 말하노니 그가 열면 아무도 닫지 못하고 그가 닫으면 아무도 열지 못하느니라.
7And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write; These things saith he that is holy, he that is true, he that hath the key of David, he that openeth, and no man shutteth; and shutteth, and no man openeth;
