하나님께서 기뻐하지 않으시는 것들

[본문] 고전10:1-12
1 이뿐만 아니라 형제들아, 나는 너희가 무지하기를 바라지 아니하노니, 우리의 조상들이 모두 구름 아래 있었다는 것과 모두 바다를 통과하였다는 것이라.
Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea;
2 그런즉 모두가 구름과 바닷속에서 모세에게로 침례를 받았느니라.
And were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea;
3 그리고 모두가 동일한 영적 음식을 먹었으며,
And did all eat the same spiritual meat;
4 모두가 동일한 영적 음료를 마셨느니라. 이는 그들이 자신들을 따라온 그 영적 반석에서 나온 것을 마셨기 때문이라. 그런즉 그 반석은 그리스도셨느니라.
And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.
5 그러나 하나님께서는 그들 중 많은 이들을 매우 기뻐하지 아니하셨느니라. 그런즉 그들이 광야 가운데서 괴멸되었느니라.
But with many of them God was not well pleased: for they were overthrown in the wilderness.
6 이제 이런 것들은 우리의 본보기들이었으니, 그들 역시 정욕을 품었던 것같이 우리가 악한 것들을 따라 정욕을 품지 않게 하려고 의도하신 것이라.
Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted.
7 또한 그들 중 일부가 그러하였던 것처럼 너희는 우상숭배자들이 되지도 말라. 기록된 바와 같으니, “백성이 앉아서 먹고 마셨으며 일어나서 놀았느니라.” 하였도다.
Neither be ye idolaters, as were some of them; as it is written, The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play.
8 또한 그들 중 일부가 저지른 것처럼 우리는 음행을 저지르지도 말자. 그러다가 하루에 이만 삼천 명이 쓰러졌느니라.
Neither let us commit fornication, as some of them committed, and fell in one day three and twenty thousand.
9 또한 그들 중 일부도 시험한 것처럼 우리는 그리스도를 시험하지도 말자. 그러다가 그들은 뱀들에게 멸망당하였느니라.
Neither let us tempt Christ, as some of them also tempted, and were destroyed of serpents.
10 또한 그들 중 일부도 불평한 것처럼 너희는 불평하지도 말라. 그러다가 멸망시키는 자에게 멸망당하였느니라.
Neither murmur ye, as some of them also murmured, and were destroyed of the destroyer.
11 이제 이 모든 일들이 본보기들로서 그들에게 벌어진 것이라. 그런즉 그것들이 우리를 위한 권고로 기록되었으니, 세상의 끝들에 당면한 우리에게라.
Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.
12 이런 이유로 자신이 서 있다고 생각하는 자는 자신이 넘어지지 않도록 주의하라.
Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.
우리는 하나님의 기쁨을 위하여 창조되었고 또 존재합니다(계4:11).
그런데 오늘 본문 말씀에 보니 하나님께서 기쁨을 얻고자 택하신 하나님의 백성들 중 많은( many, 5절) 사람들을 하나님은 기뻐하시지 않았습니다.
계4:11
11 “오, 주여, 당신께서는 영광과 존귀와 권능을 받기에 합당하시나이다. 이는 당신께서 모든 것들을 창조하셨기 때문이니, 당신의 기쁨을 위하여 그것들이 존재하고 또 창조되었기 때문이니이다.”
Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.
마찬가지로 우리 하나님의 자녀들인 그리스도인들도 하나님을 여러가지로 근심시켜 드릴 때가 있습니다. 고린도전서에서 이스라엘 백성을 통해 우리의 모습을 보고 훈계(admonition)받기를 원합니다(롬15:4, 시19:11).
롬15:4
4 이는 무엇이든지 예전에 기록된 것들은 우리의 배움을 위하여 기록되었기 때문이니, 우리로 하여금 성경 기록들이 주는 인내와 위로를 통하여 소망을 지니게 하려 함이라.
For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.
시19:11
11 더욱이 당신의 종이 그것들에 의하여 경고를 받나이다. 또한 그것들을 지킴으로써 위대한 보상이 있나이다.
Moreover by them is thy servant warned: and in keeping of them there is great reward.
1. 악한 것들을 ‘탐하면’ 하나님은 기뻐하시지 않습니다. (6절)
민11:4-6, 34
4 ¶ 이후에 그들 가운데 섞여 있던 무리가 정욕에 빠졌더라. 그러자 이스라엘 자녀들도 다시 울며 이같이 말하였더라. “누가 우리에게 고기를 먹으라고 주겠는가?
¶ And the mixt multitude that was among them fell a lusting: and the children of Israel also wept again, and said, Who shall give us flesh to eat?
5 우리가 이집트에서 자유롭게 먹었던 생선을 기억하니, 오이들과 멜론들과 리크들과 양파들과 마늘도 기억하노라.
We remember the fish, which we did eat in Egypt freely; the cucumbers, and the melons, and the leeks, and the onions, and the garlick:
6 그러나 이제 우리의 혼이 말라비틀어지는도다. 우리 눈앞에 이 만나 외에는 아예 아무것도 없도다.”
But now our soul is dried away: there is nothing at all, beside this manna, before our eyes.
34 그리하여 그분께서 그 장소의 이름을 키브롯핫타아와라 부르셨더라. 이는 그들이 욕심을 낸 백성을 거기에 묻은 까닭이라.
And he called the name of that place Kibrothhattaavah: because there they buried the people that lusted.
2. ‘우상숭배자’들을 하나님은 기뻐하시지 않습니다.(7절)
출32:6
6 그리고 그들은 이튿날 일찍 일어나서 번제물들을 바쳤고 화평 제물들을 가져왔더라. 그러자 백성이 앉아서 먹고 마시며 일어나서 뛰놀았더라.
And they rose up early on the morrow, and offered burnt offerings, and brought peace offerings; and the people sat down to eat and to drink, and rose up to play.
엡5:5
5 이는 너희가 이것을 알기 때문이니, 곧 행음에 빠진 자나 불결한 인물이나 탐욕스러운 사람, 곧 우상 숭배자는 그리스도의 왕국 곧, 하나님의 왕국에서 어떠한 유산도 얻을 수 없다는 것이라.
For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.
골3:5
5 그러므로 땅 위에 있는 너희의 지체들을 죽이라. 음행, 불결함, 무절제한 애욕, 악한 색정 그리고 탐심이니, 탐심은 곧 우상 숭배니라.
Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry:
3. ‘음행’을 저지르면 하나님은 기뻐하시지 않습니다.(8절)
민25:1-3
1 이후에 이스라엘이 싯팀 가운데 거하였는데 백성이 모압의 딸들과 더불어 행음하기 시작하였더라.
And Israel abode in Shittim, and the people began to commit whoredom with the daughters of Moab.
2 그리고 그들이 그들의 신들의 희생제들로 이스라엘 백성을 불렀더라. 그러자 백성이 먹고 그들의 신들에게 아래로 숙여 절하였더라.
And they called the people unto the sacrifices of their gods: and the people did eat, and bowed down to their gods.
3 그리하여 이스라엘이 스스로 바알프올에게 가담하였더라. 이에 주의 분노가 이스라엘을 대적하여 타올랐더라.
And Israel joined himself unto Baalpeor: and the anger of the LORD was kindled against Israel.
4. 하나님을 ‘시험’하면 하나님은 기뻐하시지 않습니다.(9절)
민21:5, 6
5 그리고 백성이 하나님을 대적하고 모세를 대적하여 이르기를, “어찌 당신들은 우리를 이집트에서 데리고 나와 광야 가운데서 죽게 하나이까? 이는 빵도 없고 어떠한 물도 없기 때문이니, 우리의 혼이 이 하찮은 빵을 역겨워하나이다.” 하였더라.
And the people spake against God, and against Moses, Wherefore have ye brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? for there is no bread, neither is there any water; and our soul loatheth this light bread.
6 그러자 주께서 불뱀들을 백성 가운데로 보내셨으니, 그것들이 백성을 물었더라. 그리하여 이스라엘의 많은 백성이 죽었더라.
And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died.
시78:18-21
18 그리고 그들은 자신들의 정욕을 위하여 음식을 구함으로써 자신들의 마음속에서 하나님을 시험하였도다.
And they tempted God in their heart by asking meat for their lust.
19 진정, 그들은 하나님을 대적하여 말을 내뱉었으니, 그들이 이같이 말하였도다. “하나님께서 광야 가운데서 식탁을 제공하실 수 있겠느냐?
Yea, they spake against God; they said, Can God furnish a table in the wilderness?
20 보라, 그분께서 그 반석을 치셨으니, 물들이 쏟아져 나왔고 물줄기들이 넘쳐흘렀도다. 그분께서 빵도 주실 수 있겠느냐? 그분께서 자신의 백성을 위하여 고기를 제공하실 수 있겠느냐?”
Behold, he smote the rock, that the waters gushed out, and the streams overflowed; can he give bread also? can he provide flesh for his people?
21 그러므로 주께서 이것을 들으시고 진노하셨도다. 그렇게 하여 불이 야곱을 대적하여 타올랐고, 분노 또한 이스라엘을 대적하여 올라왔도다.
Therefore the LORD heard this, and was wroth: so a fire was kindled against Jacob, and anger also came up against Israel;
5. 불평하면 하나님은 기뻐하시지 않습니다.(10절)
민14:36, 37
36 그리하여 모세가 그 지역을 정찰하라고 보내었고, 되돌아와서 그 지역에 관해 허위 보고를 하여 회중 전체로 하여금 그분을 대적하여 불평하게 하였던 그 남자들,
And the men, which Moses sent to search the land, who returned, and made all the congregation to murmur against him, by bringing up a slander upon the land,
37 바로 그 지역에 관하여 악한 보고를 가져온 그 남자들이 주 앞에서 재앙으로 죽었더라.
Even those men that did bring up the evil report upon the land, died by the plague before the LORD.
결론 11, 12절
11 이제 이 모든 일들이 본보기들로서 그들에게 벌어진 것이라. 그런즉 그것들이 우리를 위한 권고로 기록되었으니, 세상의 끝들에 당면한 우리에게라.
Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.
12 이런 이유로 자신이 서 있다고 생각하는 자는 자신이 넘어지지 않도록 주의하라.
Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.
