일곱 표적

[본문] 요20:30, 31
30¶ 진실로 예수님께서 자기 제자들 앞에서 이 책에 기록되지 않은 다른 표적들도 많이 행하셨으나
30And many other signs truly did Jesus in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book:
31이것들을 기록함은 예수님께서 [하나님]의 [아들] 그리스도이심을 너희가 믿게 하려 함이요, 또 믿고 그분의 이름을 통해 생명을 얻게 하려 함이니라.
31But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.

예수님께서는 3년 반의 공생애 기간 중 많은 기적들을 행하심으로써 자신이 하나님께서 보내신 대언자이시며 신성을 지니신 하나님이심을 입증해 보이셨습니다.

 

그중 일곱 개의 기적이 요한복음에 기록됐는데 이 기적들은 한결같이 예수님의 신성을 보이는 초자연적 사건이었습니다. 또한 표적으로서 영적 진리를 계시하고자 하는 수단이었음을 보게 됩니다.
 

1. 처음 세 기적은 구원이 죄인에게 어떻게 이르게 되는지를 보여줍니다

1) 예수님께서 물을 포도즙으로 변화시키심(2:1-11) 이는 구원이 말씀에 의해 오게 됨을 보여줍니다
요2:1-11
1셋째 날 갈릴리 가나에서 혼인 잔치가 있어 예수님의 어머니도 거기 있었고
1And the third day there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee; and the mother of Jesus was there:
2예수님과 그분의 제자들도 혼인 잔치에 초대를 받았더라.
2And both Jesus was called, and his disciples, to the marriage.
3그들에게 포도즙이 떨어지매 예수님의 어머니가 그분께 이르되, 그들에게 포도즙이 없다, 하니
3And when they wanted wine, the mother of Jesus saith unto him, They have no wine.
4예수님께서 그녀에게 이르시되, 여자여, 내가 당신과 무슨 상관이 있나이까? 내 때가 아직 이르지 아니하였나이다, 하시거늘
4Jesus saith unto her, Woman, what have I to do with thee? mine hour is not yet come.
5그분의 어머니가 종들에게 이르되, 그분께서 너희에게 무엇을 말씀하시든지 그대로 하라, 하니라.
5His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do [it].
6거기에 유대인들의 정결하게 하는 관례에 따라 각각 물 두세 통 담는 돌 항아리 여섯 개가 놓여 있더라.
6And there were set there six waterpots of stone, after the manner of the purifying of the Jews, containing two or three firkins apiece.
7예수님께서 그들에게 이르시되, 물 항아리들에 물을 채우라, 하신즉 그들이 아귀까지 그것들을 채우니
7Jesus saith unto them, Fill the waterpots with water. And they filled them up to the brim.
8그분께서 그들에게 이르시되, 이제는 떠서 잔치를 맡은 자에게 가져다주라, 하시매 그들이 그것을 가져다주었더니
8And he saith unto them, Draw out now, and bear unto the governor of the feast. And they bare [it].
9잔치를 주관하는 자는 포도즙이 된 물을 맛보고 그것이 어디서 났는지 알지 못하되 (그 물을 떠 온 종들은 알더라.) 잔치를 맡은 자가 신랑을 불러
9When the ruler of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, and knew not whence it was: (but the servants which drew the water knew;) the governor of the feast called the bridegroom,
10그에게 이르되, 모든 사람이 처음에 좋은 포도즙을 내고 사람들이 충분히 마신 뒤에 덜 좋은 것을 내거늘 그대는 지금까지 좋은 포도즙을 남겨 두었도다, 하니라.
10And saith unto him, Every man at the beginning doth set forth good wine; and when men have well drunk, then that which is worse: [but] thou hast kept the good wine until now.
11예수님께서 기적들 중의 이 처음 기적을 갈릴리 가나에서 행하사 자신의 영광을 나타내시니 그분의 제자들이 그분을 믿으니라.
11This beginning of miracles did Jesus in Cana of Galilee, and manifested forth his glory; and his disciples believed on him.

 

벧전1:23
23너희가 다시 태어난 것은 썩을 씨에서 난 것이 아니요 썩지 아니할 씨에서 난 것이니 살아 있고 영원히 거하는 [하나님]의 말씀으로 된 것이니라.
23Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.

2) 귀족의 아들을 치유하심(4:46-54) 이는 구원이 믿음에 의해 주어짐을 보여줍니다

요4:46-54
46이처럼 예수님께서 다시 갈릴리 가나에 오셨는데 이곳은 그분께서 물을 포도즙으로 만드신 곳이더라. 거기에 어떤 귀인이 있었는데 그의 아들이 가버나움에서 병들었더라.
46So Jesus came again into Cana of Galilee, where he made the water wine. And there was a certain nobleman, whose son was sick at Capernaum.
47그가 예수님께서 유대에서 떠나 갈릴리로 들어오셨다는 것을 듣고 그분께 가서 그분께 간청하여 그분께서 내려와 자기 아들을 고쳐 줄 것을 구하니 이는 그가 죽게 되었기 때문이라.
47When he heard that Jesus was come out of Judaea into Galilee, he went unto him, and besought him that he would come down, and heal his son: for he was at the point of death.
48그때에 예수님께서 그에게 이르시되, 너희는 표적들과 이적들을 보지 않으면 믿으려 하지 아니하는도다, 하매
48Then said Jesus unto him, Except ye see signs and wonders, ye will not believe.
49그 귀인이 그분께 이르되, 선생님이여, 내 아이가 죽기 전에 내려오소서, 하니
49The nobleman saith unto him, Sir, come down ere my child die.
50예수님께서 그에게 이르시되, 네 길로 가라. 네 아들이 살아 있다, 하시매 그 사람이 예수님께서 자기에게 하신 말씀을 믿고 자기 길로 가더라.
50Jesus saith unto him, Go thy way; thy son liveth. And the man believed the word that Jesus had spoken unto him, and he went his way.
51이제 그가 내려갈 때에 그의 종들이 그를 만나 그에게 고하여 이르기를, 당신의 아들이 살아 있나이다, 하거늘
51And as he was now going down, his servants met him, and told [him], saying, Thy son liveth.
52그때에 그가 자기 아들이 낫기 시작한 시각을 그들에게 물은즉 그들이 그에게 말하되, 어제 일곱 시에 열병이 그에게서 떠났나이다, 하매
52Then inquired he of them the hour when he began to amend. And they said unto him, Yesterday at the seventh hour the fever left him.
53이에 그 아버지가 그때가 바로 예수님께서 자기에게, 네 아들이 살아 있다, 하고 말씀하신 그 시각인 줄 알고 그와 그의 온 집이 믿으니라.
53So the father knew that [it was] at the same hour, in the which Jesus said unto him, Thy son liveth: and himself believed, and his whole house.
54이것은 또한 예수님께서 유대에서 떠나 갈릴리로 들어오신 뒤에 행하신 둘째 기적이니라.
54This [is] again the second miracle [that] Jesus did, when he was come out of Judaea into Galilee.

 

엡2:8, 9
8너희가 믿음을 통해 은혜로 구원을 받았나니 그것은 너희 자신에게서 난 것이 아니요 [하나님]의 선물이니라.
8For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: [it is] the gift of God:
9행위에서 난 것이 아니니 이것은 아무도 자랑하지 못하게 하려 함이라.
9Not of works, lest any man should boast.

 

3) 중풍환자를 치유하심(5:1-9) 이는 구원이 은혜로 오게 됨을 보여줍니다
요5:1-9
1이 일 뒤에 유대인들의 명절이 있어서 예수님께서 예루살렘에 올라가시니라.
1After this there was a feast of the Jews; and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.
2이제 예루살렘의 양 시장 곁에 히브리말로 베데스다라 하는 연못이 있는데 거기에 주랑 다섯 개가 있고
2Now there is at Jerusalem by the sheep [market] a pool, which is called in the Hebrew tongue Bethesda, having five porches.
3이것들 안에 허약한 자, 눈먼 자, 다리 저는 자, 몸이 오그라든 자들의 큰 무리가 누워 물이 움직이는 것을 기다리더라.
3In these lay a great multitude of impotent folk, of blind, halt, withered, waiting for the moving of the water.
4이는 어떤 때에 천사가 연못에 내려와 물을 휘저었고 물을 휘저은 뒤에 누구든지 먼저 들어가는 자는 무슨 병에 걸렸든지 온전하게 되었기 때문이더라.
4For an angel went down at a certain season into the pool, and troubled the water: whosoever then first after the troubling of the water stepped in was made whole of whatsoever disease he had.
5거기에 삼십팔 년 동안 병약함을 지닌 어떤 사람이 있더라.
5And a certain man was there, which had an infirmity thirty and eight years.
6예수님께서 그가 누운 것을 보실 때에 그가 이제 그런 상태로 오랫동안 있은 줄 아시고 그에게 이르시되, 네가 온전하게 되고자 하느냐? 하시니
6When Jesus saw him lie, and knew that he had been now a long time [in that case], he saith unto him, Wilt thou be made whole?
7그 허약한 사람이 그분께 대답하되, 선생님이여, 물을 휘저을 때에 나를 연못에 넣어 주는 사람이 없어 내가 가는 동안 다른 사람이 나보다 먼저 내려가나이다, 하매
7The impotent man answered him, Sir, I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pool: but while I am coming, another steppeth down before me.
8예수님께서 그에게 이르시되, 일어나 네 자리를 들고 걸어가라, 하시니
8Jesus saith unto him, Rise, take up thy bed, and walk.
9그 사람이 곧 온전하게 되어 자기 자리를 들고 걸어가니라. 바로 그 날은 안식일이더라.
9And immediately the man was made whole, and took up his bed, and walked: and on the same day was the sabbath.

 

딤후1:9, 10
9그분께서 우리를 구원하시고 거룩한 부르심으로 부르신 것은 우리의 행위에 따른 것이 아니요 자신의 목적과 은혜에 따른 것이니라. 그 은혜는 세상이 시작되기 전에 그리스도 예수님 안에서 우리에게 주어졌으나
9Who hath saved us, and called [us] with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,
10이제 우리의 [구원자] 예수 그리스도의 나타나심으로 분명히 드러났으니 그분께서는 사망을 폐하시고 복음을 통해 생명과 죽지 아니함을 밝히 드러내셨느니라.
10But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel:
 

2. 네 번째 기적은 전환점으로 처음 세 기적과 나머지 세 기적 사이에 놓여있습니다

1)  5천명을 먹이심(6:1-14) 이는 예수님께서는 구원의 기적을 죄인에게 보이실 때 사람을 도구로 사용하심을 보여줍니다
요6:1-14
1이 일들 뒤에 예수님께서 갈릴리 바다 곧 디베랴 바다 건너편으로 가시매
1After these things Jesus went over the sea of Galilee, which is [the sea] of Tiberias.
2큰 무리가 그분을 따르니 이는 그분께서 병든 자들에게 행하신 기적들 즉 그분의 기적들을 그들이 보았기 때문이더라.
2And a great multitude followed him, because they saw his miracles which he did on them that were diseased.
3예수님께서 산에 오르사 자기 제자들과 함께 거기 앉으셨는데
3And Jesus went up into a mountain, and there he sat with his disciples.
4유대인들의 명절인 유월절이 가까이 왔더라.
4And the passover, a feast of the Jews, was nigh.
5¶ 예수님께서 눈을 들어 큰 무리가 자기에게 오는 것을 보시고 빌립에게 이르시되, 우리가 어디서 빵을 사서 이들을 먹이겠느냐? 하시니
5When Jesus then lifted up [his] eyes, and saw a great company come unto him, he saith unto Philip, Whence shall we buy bread, that these may eat?
6그분께서 이렇게 말씀하신 것은 친히 행하실 것을 아셨으므로 그를 시험하고자 하심이더라.
6And this he said to prove him: for he himself knew what he would do.
7빌립이 그분께 대답하되, 그들이 각각 조금씩 받을지라도 이백 데나리온 어치의 빵이 그들에게 충분치 아니하리이다, 하매
7Philip answered him, Two hundred pennyworth of bread is not sufficient for them, that every one of them may take a little.
8그분의 제자들 중의 하나이며 시몬 베드로의 형제인 안드레가 그분께 아뢰되,
8One of his disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter's brother, saith unto him,
9여기 한 소년이 있는데 그가 보리 빵 다섯 개와 작은 물고기 두 마리를 가지고 있나이다. 그러나 그것들이 이 많은 사람들에게 얼마나 되겠나이까? 하니
9There is a lad here, which hath five barley loaves, and two small fishes: but what are they among so many?
10예수님께서 이르시되, 그 사람들을 앉게 하라, 하시매 이제 그곳에 잔디가 많으므로 이에 그 사람들이 앉으니 수가 오천쯤 되더라.
10And Jesus said, Make the men sit down. Now there was much grass in the place. So the men sat down, in number about five thousand.
11예수님께서 빵을 집으사 감사를 드리신 뒤에 제자들에게 나누어 주시니 제자들이 자리를 잡은 자들에게 나누어 주고 또 그와 같이 물고기도 그들이 원하는 대로 주시더라.
11And Jesus took the loaves; and when he had given thanks, he distributed to the disciples, and the disciples to them that were set down; and likewise of the fishes as much as they would.
12그들이 배부른 뒤에 그분께서 자기 제자들에게 이르시되, 남아 있는 조각들을 거두어 잃어버리는 것이 없게 하라, 하시므로
12When they were filled, he said unto his disciples, Gather up the fragments that remain, that nothing be lost.
13그들이 그것들을 함께 거두고 충분히 넘치게 먹은 자들이 남긴 보리 빵 다섯 개의 조각들로 열두 바구니를 채웠더라.
13Therefore they gathered [them] together, and filled twelve baskets with the fragments of the five barley loaves, which remained over and above unto them that had eaten.
14그때에 그 사람들이 예수님께서 행하신 그 기적을 보고 이르되, 이분은 진실로 세상에 오실 그 대언자시로다, 하더라.
14Then those men, when they had seen the miracle that Jesus did, said, This is of a truth that prophet that should come into the world.

 

행1:8
8오직 [성령님]께서 너희에게 임하신 뒤에 너희가 권능을 받고 예루살렘과 온 유대와 사마리아에서 그리고 땅의 맨 끝 지역까지 이르러 나를 위한 증인이 되리라, 하시니라.
8But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

 

3. 나머지 세 기적은 믿는 자들이 얻는 구원의 결과들입니다

1)  폭풍을 잠잠케 하심(6:15-21) 이는 구원이 평강을 가져다 줌을 보여줍니다
요6:15-21
15¶ 그러므로 그들이 와서 억지로 자기를 데려다가 왕으로 삼으려는 것을 예수님께서 아시고 다시 혼자 산으로 떠나가시니라.
15When Jesus therefore perceived that they would come and take him by force, to make him a king, he departed again into a mountain himself alone.
16이제 저녁이 되매 그분의 제자들이 바다로 내려가서
16And when even was [now] come, his disciples went down unto the sea,
17배에 올라 바다를 건너 가버나움으로 가는데 이제 날이 어두웠고 예수님께서는 아직 그들에게 오지 아니하셨더라.
17And entered into a ship, and went over the sea toward Capernaum. And it was now dark, and Jesus was not come to them.
18큰 바람이 불어 바다가 출렁이더라.
18And the sea arose by reason of a great wind that blew.
19이에 그들이 노를 저어 이십오 내지 삼십 스타디온쯤 가다가 예수님께서 바다 위로 걸어 배에 가까이 오시는 것을 보고 두려워하거늘
19So when they had rowed about five and twenty or thirty furlongs, they see Jesus walking on the sea, and drawing nigh unto the ship: and they were afraid.
20그분께서 그들에게 이르시되, 나니 두려워하지 말라, 하시니라.
20But he saith unto them, It is I; be not afraid.
21이에 그들이 그분을 반가이 배로 받아들였고 배는 곧 그들이 가려던 뭍에 이르렀더라.
21Then they willingly received him into the ship: and immediately the ship was at the land whither they went.

 

빌4:6, 7
6아무것도 염려하지 말고 오직 모든 일에서 기도와 간구로 너희가 요청할 것들을 감사와 더불어 [하나님]께 알리라.
6Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
7그리하면 모든 이해를 뛰어넘는 [하나님]의 평강이 그리스도 예수님을 통해 너희 마음과 생각을 지키시리라.
7And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

2) 소경을 치유하심(9:1-7) 이는 구원이 빛을 가져다 줌을 보여줍니다
요9:1-7
1예수님께서 지나가실 때에 태어날 때부터 눈먼 사람을 보시매
1And as [Jesus] passed by, he saw a man which was blind from [his] birth.
2그분의 제자들이 그분께 여쭈어 이르되, 선생님이여, 누가 죄를 지었기에 그가 눈먼 자로 태어났나이까? 이 사람이니이까, 그의 부모이니이까? 하니
2And his disciples asked him, saying, Master, who did sin, this man, or his parents, that he was born blind?
3예수님께서 대답하시되, 이 사람이나 그의 부모나 죄를 짓지 아니하였으며 다만 이것은 그에게서 [하나님]의 일들을 나타내고자 함이니라.
3Jesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him.
4낮일 때에 내가 반드시 나를 보내신 분의 일들을 하여야 하리라. 밤이 오면 그때는 아무도 일할 수 없느니라.
4I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.
5내가 세상에 있는 동안에는 세상의 빛이로다, 하시니라.
5As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.
6이렇게 말씀하시고는 그분께서 땅에 침을 뱉고 침으로 진흙을 이겨 그 눈먼 사람의 눈에 진흙을 바르시며
6When he had thus spoken, he spat on the ground, and made clay of the spittle, and he anointed the eyes of the blind man with the clay,
7그에게 이르시되, 가서 실로암 못에서 씻으라, 하시니 (실로암은 번역하면 보내어졌다는 뜻이라.) 그러므로 그가 자기 길로 가서 씻고 보게 되어 왔더라.
7And said unto him, Go, wash in the pool of Siloam, (which is by interpretation, Sent.) He went his way therefore, and washed, and came seeing.

 

고후4:3-6
3만일 우리의 복음이 가려졌다면 그것은 잃어버린 자들에게 가려졌느니라.
3But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:
4그들 속에서 이 세상의 신이 믿지 않는 자들의 마음을 가려 [하나님]의 형상이신 그리스도의 영광스러운 복음의 빛이 그들에게 비치지 못하게 하였느니라.
4In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.
5우리는 우리 자신을 선포하지 아니하며 오직 [주] 되신 그리스도 예수님과 또 예수님으로 인하여 너희의 종 된 우리 자신을 선포하노니
5For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake.
6빛에게 명령하사 어둠 속에서 빛을 비추게 하신 [하나님]께서 우리 마음에 빛을 비추사 예수 그리스도의 얼굴에 있는 [하나님]의 영광을 아는 빛을 주셨느니라.
6For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to [give] the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

 

골1:12,13
12우리를 빛 가운데서 성도들의 상속 유업에 참여하는 자가 되기에 합당하게 하신 [아버지]께 감사드리기를 원하였노라.
12Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:
13그분께서 우리를 어둠의 권능에서 건져 내사 자신의 사랑하는 [아들]의 왕국으로 옮기셨으니
13Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated [us] into the kingdom of his dear Son:

 요일1:6,7
6만일 우리가 그분과 교제한다고 말하며 어둠 가운데 걸으면 우리가 거짓말하고 진리를 행하지 아니하느니라.
6If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:
7그러나 그분께서 빛 가운데 계신 것 같이 만일 우리가 빛 가운데 걸으면 우리가 서로 교제하고 또 그분의 [아들] 예수 그리스도의 피가 모든 죄에서 우리를 깨끗하게 하느니라.
7But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

 

마5:14-16
14너희는 세상의 빛이니 산 위에 세운 도시가 숨겨지지 못하리라.
14Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.
15또 사람들이 등잔불을 켜서 통 밑에 두지 아니하고 등잔대 위에 두나니 그리하여야 그것이 집 안의 모든 사람에게 빛을 주느니라.
15Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.
16이와 같이 너희 빛을 사람들 앞에 비추어 그들이 너희의 선한 행위를 보고 하늘에 계신 너희 [아버지]께 영광을 돌리게 하라.
16Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

 

3) 나사로를 일으키심(11:38-45) 이는 구원이 생명을 가져다 줌을 보여줍니다
요11:38-45
38그러므로 예수님께서 다시 속으로 신음하시며 무덤에 가셨는데 그 무덤은 동굴이며 그 위에 돌이 놓였더라.
38Jesus therefore again groaning in himself cometh to the grave. It was a cave, and a stone lay upon it.
39예수님께서 이르시되, 돌을 옮겨 놓으라, 하시매 죽은 자의 누이 마르다가 그분께 이르되, [주]여, 그가 죽은 지 나흘이 되었으므로 지금은 그에게서 냄새가 나나이다, 하니
39Jesus said, Take ye away the stone. Martha, the sister of him that was dead, saith unto him, Lord, by this time he stinketh: for he hath been [dead] four days.
40예수님께서 그녀에게 이르시되, 내가 네게 말하기를, 네가 믿고자 하면 [하나님]의 영광을 보리라, 하지 아니하였느냐? 하시니라.
40Jesus saith unto her, Said I not unto thee, that, if thou wouldest believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God?
41그때에 그들이 죽은 자를 둔 곳에서 돌을 옮겨 놓으니 예수님께서 눈을 드시고 이르시되, [아버지]여, 아버지께서 내 말을 들으신 것을 감사하나이다.
41Then they took away the stone [from the place] where the dead was laid. And Jesus lifted up [his] eyes, and said, Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me.
42아버지께서 항상 내 말을 들으시는 줄을 내가 알았나이다. 그러나 곁에 서 있는 사람들 때문에 내가 그것을 말하였사오니 이것은 [아버지]께서 나를 보내신 것을 그들이 믿게 하려 함이니이다, 하시니라.
42And I knew that thou hearest me always: but because of the people which stand by I said [it], that they may believe that thou hast sent me.
43그분께서 이렇게 말씀하시고 큰 소리로 외쳐, 나사로야, 나오라, 하시니
43And when he thus had spoken, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth.
44죽은 자가 수의로 손발이 묶인 채 나오는데 그의 얼굴은 수건으로 묶였더라. 예수님께서 그들에게 이르시되, 그를 풀어 주어 그가 다니게 하라, 하시니라.
44And he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with graveclothes: and his face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus saith unto them, Loose him, and let him go.
45그때에 마리아에게 와서 예수님께서 행하신 일들을 본 유대인들 중의 많은 자들이 그분을 믿었으나
45Then many of the Jews which came to Mary, and had seen the things which Jesus did, believed on him.

 

요3:16
16¶ [하나님]께서 세상을 이처럼 사랑하사 자신의 독생자를 주셨으니 이것은 누구든지 그를 믿는 자는 멸망하지 않고 영존하는 생명을 얻게 하려 하심이라.
16For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

 

롬6:23
23죄의 삯은 사망이나 [하나님]의 선물은 예수 그리스도 우리 [주]를 통해 얻는 영원한 생명이니라.
23For the wages of sin [is] death; but the gift of God [is] eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

 

롬5:18
18그러므로 한 사람의 범죄로 말미암아 심판이 모든 사람에게 임하여 정죄에 이른 것 같이 한 사람의 의로 말미암아 이 거저 주시는 선물이 모든 사람에게 임하여 생명의 칭의에 이르렀나니
18Therefore as by the offence of one [judgment came] upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one [the free gift came] upon all men unto justification of life.

요10:10
10도둑이 오는 것은 다만 도둑질하고 죽이고 멸망시키려 함이거니와 내가 온 것은 양들이 생명을 얻게 하고 또 생명을 더욱 풍성히 얻게 하려 함이라.
10The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have [it] more abundantly.

 

롬6:4
4그러므로 우리가 죽음 안으로 침례를 받아 그분과 함께 묻혔나니 이것은 그리스도께서 [아버지]의 영광을 힘입어 죽은 자들로부터 일으켜진 것 같이 우리도 생명의 새로움 속에서 걷게 하려 함이라.
4Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

 롬8:6
6육신적으로 생각하는 것은 사망이요 영적으로 생각하는 것은 생명과 평안이니라.
6For to be carnally minded [is] death; but to be spiritually minded [is] life and peace.

P.S. 21장의 여덟 번째 기적은 물고기를 잡으신 것으로 세상에게 보이신 기적이 아니라 제자들만을 위한 것임.
